Stanley Carscallen, Q.C.As founder of Carscallen LLP, Stan has impressed a practical, business-like, problem-solving approach to the conduct of the firm’s legal practice. While directing the firm’s comprehensive services, he has provided significant guidance and mentorship to other firm members based on his vast experience representing clients in corporate commercial and litigation matters. Stan’s legal career has involved commercial litigation, oil & gas, administrative hearing work, land development and corporate and commercial transactions. In recent years he has been most actively engaged in very large and complex litigation pertaining to the oil and gas industry. In addition to acting as counsel on Queen’s Bench trials and before administrative Boards, Stan has conducted appellate work before the Alberta Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. With a wealth of experience in both corporate and litigation practice, Stan is frequently called to represent clients involved in very complex disputes and transactions. In that capacity he provides extensive development of strategy and negotiation or litigation, followed by the preparation of detailed and complex agreements and related documentation for the settlement of disputes. Complimenting his extensive negotiating experience, Stan's background as an oil and gas, corporate and commercial solicitor has proven advantageous in litigating disputes involving industry matters. Stan has in recent years been active in the community as the President of the Diabetes Association (Foothills), a member of the Julia McFarlane Diabetes Research Centre at the University of Calgary, a board member of the Ann and Sandy Cross Conservation Area and as a member of a number of other corporate, charitable and community boards.
